Win over Kitchener Blue
Game number two and Waterloo wanted nothing less then a win. #3, Miller was quick to start us off on the right foot, getting a shot on net and finding the mesh at the back. Waterloo was on the attack and put two more goals in, however one was called back leaving Waterloo with a 2-0 lead at the end of one. #68 Malcolm did a great job to make the second goal, giving Waterloo a cushion of protection.
Thanks to amazing BBM updates all week by P. Hancock, not a moment was missed by those not able to make the games.
The second period was a solid performance by both teams. No goals scored due to the great defensive plays as well as the solid goal tending displayed by Waterloo and Kitchener. And the third period was a repeat of this same effort. Waterloo was powerful up the ice, driving to the net to make quick shots. The forwards had great passes, looking up for the open shot. Our defensive players defended the house with grit and conviction. Due to the combined efforts of all members of the Waterloo team a solid 2-0 win over Kitchener was recorded.
The challenge continues Saturday at Grand River Arena. This could be a winner takes all game. Good luck Waterloo!!
