Series Against Kitchener Red
Wolves Black found themselves eliminating one Kitchener team to only take on another. This is both a privilege and a challenge, with the great coaching and skill of the Kitchener teams. Waterloo would need to come out strong and show their desire to win. And that is exactly what Waterloo did.

Waterloo came out onto the ice with fire in their skates and sticks. Anderson put the first goal on the board, giving the team the will and desire for the win. Our defence managed to shut down the goal makers from Kitchener during both the first and second periods, while the fast and furious saves by Obermayer kept Kitchener scoreless. Bosomworth added to our goal lead with a shot that went top corner to give Waterloo a 2-1 lead in the second period. You could see that Waterloo wanted this win, and they were willing to put it all out there. However, Kitchener had their own plans and early in the third period they slipped one through the slot. Waterloo retaliated and Labrie pushed past every obstacle to get the third goal to regain the lead. Kitchener was not going to give in and managed another goal late in the third. To help their purpose they pulled their goalie, while on the power play, to set up a 4 on 6 situation. But as mentioned earlier, Waterloo had the desire to win. Working as a team, they defended their net and earned a solid victory. Final score 3-2 Waterloo. 1 win away from taking the series against Kitchener.
