What a weekend it was for our team! Our boys played two great games and we had a little fun in between.
We kicked it off with a team building event on Friday night with the boys working on their swings in the batting cage as well as on the mini-golf course (light putting is always just a suggestion). A great event organized by our outstanding Social Committee – thank you to Nicole, Sharilyn and Lisa!
On Saturday we made the trip west to London to play against London’s Jr. Mustangs White team. It was standing room only (literally – there were no benches) as the boys battled hard against the Mustangs earning a 4-3 win. It was a tough and aggressive game with neither side backing down. It was a nice win for our team.
More team building after the game as many players (and parents) enjoyed the fine culinary offerings of 5 Guys Burgers and Fries. A group of families had decided to spend the night in London so many members of the team went back to spend the night at the hotel where the boys enjoyed the waterslide and pool and the parents educated one another on the fine art of euchre.
On Sunday the team traveled to play the Sarnia Jr. Sting. The team had a very strong showing with goals coming from all our lines. We won the game 12-1. It was a great way to end the weekend and for us to enter this week of practices as we prepare for our tournament in Whitby.
