The Minor Peewee Gold Wolves travelled to Michigan
from Sept. 20-22 to play in the 6th Annual Rumble on the Rink
tournament.
The Wolves took on their first opponent, the Southgate Senators from Michigan. It was a tightly contested battle, but in the end the Wolves were defeated 3-2. Next up was Compuware AA from Michigan, and the Wolves triumphed in a 2-0 win – great all-around play by the goaltender, defenders and forward lines. The final game in the round-robin was against the Grosse Pointe Bulldogs from Michigan, where the Wolves were victorious with a score of 3-1. With this hard-won outcome, the Wolves earned a spot in the semi-finals.
Bright and early Sunday morning, the Wolves faced familiar opponents from London – the London Jr. Knights Green team. Although the Wolves played a solid game, they ended their tournament run in a loss in the semi-finals to London, with a score of 2-0. The Wolves remained strong and resilient throughout this high-calibre competition.
Great team play and hard work in your first tournament, Wolves. A fine start to an exciting season!
