Silver Stick Stratford Regional Tournament
Congratulations to the Minor Peewee Gold Wolves, Silver Stick Finalists and Silver medal winners at the Silver Stick Stratford Regional tournament held December 27-29, 2013.

The Wolves played hard in their journey to the Silver Stick finals. Their first opponent was the Stratford Warriors. The Wolves dominated through the game, and won 3-1. Later the same day, the Wolves faced the Ancaster Avalanche. With the Wolves up 2-1, the Avalanche scored with a little more than a minute left in the game, to tie the game to a final score of 2-2.

Early the next morning, the Wolves faced a familiar opponent, the London Jr Knights Green team. The teams were evenly matched with great play both in the defensive and offensive ends. In the end, London won 2-1.

With their excellent tournament results, the Wolves earned a spot in the Silver Stick semi-finals against the Ancaster Avalanche. This time, the Wolves dominated the Avalanche, and won the semi-final decisively 6-1. The Wolves secured a spot in the Silver Stick finals.

In the final game of the tournament, against the London Jr Knights Green team, the Wolves were first on the board with a goal in the second period. The Wolves held the lead through a fast-paced game with lots of goal-scoring chances from both teams, until London tied up the game midway through the third period. The game remained tied at the end of regulation. Both teams came back to play with lots of energy in overtime, but it was on a penalty shot in overtime that London won the game.

The Wolves played strong, fast-paced hockey throughout the tournament to earn their spot as Silver Stick Finalists and as Silver medalists. Congratulations and well done Wolves!
