Good Work at Practice
I really liked seeing the hard work and effort at practice today. It was clear that everyone came prepared to work hard. Make sure you pay attention when we are introducing drills and for when it is your turn to go.

The top 3 things we worked on in today's practice were:

1) Forward skating - when racing forward keep your elbows tucked in to your sides with one hand on the stick to get your motion going forward rather than "pitchforking" from side to side

2) Passes - Wimpy passes are called "Giveaways!" so make sure our passes are good and hard
- Always pass in front of the skater so that they don't have to slow down or backup to get the puck
- If you miss the puck then Go Get It!
- If we make a good hard pass coming out of our end that goes for an Icing call, that's OK because we get a chance to change the lines

3) Defensive Positioning in our end for all players
If the puck is in the left corner then:
   1) Left D and Center are on the puck in the corner
   2) Left W is set up on the boards between the hashmarks and the ringette line ready for a breakout pass
   3) Right D is in front of the net taking a man
   4) Right W is in the high slot ready to either help out the D in front of the net or head out to centre ice for a
       breakaway pass

If the puck is in the right corner then:
   1) Right D and Center are on the puck in the corner
   2) Right W is set up on the boards between the hashmarks and the ringette line ready for a breakout pass
   3) Left D is in front of the net taking a man
   4) Left W is in the high slot ready to either help out the D in front of the net or head out to centre ice for a breakaway
