Atomc Red vs. Atomc Black
Atomc Red's (1-0-0) first playoff game came against Atomc Black (0-1-0) this past Friday.

Both teams came ready to play, but it was Red who held the early advantage.  Sothern, Smith, and Perry started the game with a strong shift for Red, keeping pressure in the offensive end.  Paiva-Bernard, Wagner, and Kytola followed with another hard fore-checking shift of their own.  Annett, Noble, and Horvath fed off of the momentum generated by the first two lines, and scored the early goal the team was looking for on just the third shift of the game.  Red continued to pressure for the remainder of the first period.  With just over two minutes left the team added another goal when defensmen Endres scored with the help of forwards Sothern, Smith, and Perry.

Red started the second period the same way they started the first.  Annett, Noble, and Horvath scored their second of the game two minutes in to give the team a commanding 3-0 lead.  Black did not give up though, and scored three minutes later to cut the lead to two.

The remainder of the second, and the majority of the third period were a defensive battle.  Red, lead by forwards Paiva-Bernard, Wagner, and Kytola along with defensemen Kelly, Endres, Domerchie, Reeve, Hankins, Steffler, and McGoldrick held Black off of the score sheet for the remainder of the game.  With the team up by two goals, the solid defensive play was needed as one more goal for Black would have made the game much more interesting.  With just under two minutes remaining in the third, Annett, Noble, and Horvath added another goal to make the final score 4-1.

A great game by Red's defense was complimented by another solid effort by goaltender Storms.  Although Red held the lead for the majority of the game, Storms did make a few timely saves when called upon.
