Atomc Red Vs. Atomc Blue
Following a close game on Saturday, Atomc Red (9-4-3) followed it up with another hard fought win over Atomc Blue (8-6-2) on Sunday.

With both teams coming off of game action the previous day, they came out to play in the first period.  Both teams were able to generate a few scoring chances, but overall the period was dominated by solid team defense.  With both teams playing tough to beat, the period ended with no score.

The same can be said for the first few minutes of the second period.  Both teams were able to carry the play for short periods of time, but both goaltenders stood tall.  Finally four minutes into the period, the line of Paiva-Bernard, Kytola, and Wagner scored, after a strong offensive shift, to give Red a 1-0 lead.  The lead would last for the majority of the frame until Blue scored what looked to be heartbreaking end of period goal with forty one seconds left.  Red once again showed their heart though.  After Hankins and Steffler were able to hold the puck in on the point; Noble, Annett, and Horvath drove the net and scored fifteen seconds later to regain the lead.

Heading into the third period Red looked to maintain their pressure.  Sothern, Smith, and McGoldrick not only had a few scoring chances, but they also played text book hockey in their own zone.  However with the period at the half way point Blue was able to sneak in a goal and tie the game 2-2.  It looked like the game would remain tied but Red continued to apply pressure.  With the team playing hard Annett, Noble, and Horvath rode the momentum and scored their second of the game with just under two minutes remaining to regain the lead.

For the last two minutes the defense Hankins and Steffler; Domerchie and Reeve; Kelly and Endres were at their best.  They were able to shut the game down completely, and helped the forwards keep the puck in the offensive end until time ran out making the final score 3-2.

Storms played his usual best in net.  His steady play once again gave the team a lot of confidence playing in front of him.

Red will not see any game action this coming weekend, but will look forward to starting playoffs on Feb.22 against Atomc Black.
