Atomc Red vs. Atomc Gold
After a weekend with no game action Atomc Red (8-4-3) won their first of two games this past weekend, 5-3 against Atomc Gold (9-4-2).

Red started the game off exactly as planned when Annett, Noble, and Horvath, now known as the ABC line, scored a minute and a half into the game to give Red a quick one goal lead.  Red would continue to skate hard and they generated plenty of scoring chances in what was their best period of play.  Wingers Smith and McGoldrick had a few strong forechecking shifts that Red was able to build off of.  Annett, Noble, and Horvath  were able to build on the teams strong play and scored their second goal of the game with only half a minute remaining in the period giving Red a 2-0 lead.

Red carried the momentum into the second period and this time it was wingers Kytola and Wagner along with Annett that were able to put one past the Gold goaltender less then thirty seconds after the drop of the puck to extend the lead.  After Red was able to take a three goal lead, Gold gained a little momentum of their own, scoring just over a minute later.  Red was not deterred though, as Sothern, Noble, and Horvath scored before the end of the period to regain the three goal lead.

The third period was entertaining as Gold made things interesting.  They were able to score two goals before the midway point of the third period, but that would be all.  Red's defense pairings of Endres and Steffler; Domerchie and Reeve; Kelly and Hankins were able limit Gold's scoring chances in the second half of the period.  They played with strong defensive positioning in their on zone as well as on the rush, until Noble was able to bury an empty net goal to seal the deal for Red.

Goaltender Storms played with confidence in net making a number of important saves when Gold had pulled within one.
