Atomc Red vs. Atomc Black
This past weekend Atomc Red (6-4-2) won a nail biter against Atomc Black (4-8-0).

Red was able to come out with an aggressive first period that resulted in many scoring opportunities.  Playing two men short the team was forced to role with two centers Annett and Sothern.  Although they were not playing with their regular line mates the wingers Noble and Horvath; Wagner and Kytola; and Smith and Perry played a solid offensive period, but were unable to score a goal to show for it.

The same can be said for most of the second period.  Red was able to maintain most of the pressure in Blacks end, which resulted in four or five goals posts, but nothing on the score board.  Finally, with just over three minutes remaining in the second period Kytola and Wagner were able to put one past the opposing goalie to give red a 1-0 lead.

The third period would see much of the same.  With a few chances going both directions neither team was able to score.  After a thrilling final minute the game would end with a final score of 1-0.

Reds defense pairings Kelly and Hankins; Reeve and Domerchie; and Endres and Steffler play a great game.  With the offense not scoring as many goals as usual, it was up to the defense to keep Black at bay.  They were able to hold Black to very few quality scoring chances, which is that much more important in such a close game.

Storms had another solid game in net.  He made a few key saves in particular when the game was still 0-0, that could have drastically changed the game.  He also stood strong in the final minute to preserve the win for Red.

Red has two games this upcoming weekend.  The first comes this Saturday against Atomc Green (8-3-1) the second on Sunday against Atomc White (0-11-1)
