The Wolves Pursuit
The MD minor atom Ice Wolves would play their final two games of the regular season at home.  The excitement surrounding the team was that these last two games had league standing implications.  A cluster of teams vying for a Tier 1 spot. The Ice Wolves were focused on the opportunity before them. 

The first opponent Kitchener blue, a team on the rise would prove to be pesky challenge. The Ice Wolves controlled the match early, heavily outshooting the Rangers who held the Ice Wolves to 0-0.
The Ice Wolves would finally capitalize on a shot from Cooper S that was redirected past the Ranger goalie by Sam V. The lead would not stand as Kitchener scored on a goal minutes later.  The final minutes saw chances at both ends of the ice and Ty W. making a goal mouth save that held the game to a 1-1 tie.  Shots were 20-7 for the Ice Wolves.

Game two was a must win. Kitchener red would visit the Ice Wolves for an afternoon tilt.
The Ice Wolves came out flying as they controlled play in the opposition end.  There were many cross ice passes zipping thru the crease untouched.  The first two periods were over in a flash with lots of chances for the Ice Wolves and few whistles.

The score was 0-0 heading into the third. The Rangers were soon done in by two parts Sam. With play in the Ranger zone Sam R in the corner spotted an open Sam V in the slot.  A wrister past the goalie put the Ice Wolves up 1-0. Shortly after the same play but reverse with Sam V spotting an open Sam R in the slot burying it in the Ranger net. With a 2-0 lead the Ice Wolves would head to a 2 man powerplay.  A fitting conclusion to the final game of the regular season saw Connor L breaking into the Ranger zone along the boards patiently waiting the right opportunity to thread a pass onto Ethan W stick, the shot would beat the goalie for Ethan's first goal of the year.  Cooper S would seal the deal blasting past the defense going in on breakaway and beating the goalie for the goal and a 4-0 lead, assists to Ethan H and Owen K. Shots were    26-8.
The Ice Wolves offence was sparked and with defensive zone dedication and Ty W. making some big saves the shutout was intact with the 4-0 win.
The Ice Wolves finishing 4th with 23 points and a 9-6-5 record, 38 goals for and a league leading 25 goals against. Great work team.
