Wolves Dialed in and Focused
It has become a theme with the team……”keep good habits and work hard”.

We have all heard it said before, hard work will beat skill when skill isn’t working hard. Well, when you have skill and hard work you end up with something special. It was also why the Wolves won 7 to 0 over the Stratford Warriors.

Right off the faceoff the Wolves were all over the puck like a dog on a bone and it took less than two minutes for Declan Uniac to score from Matthew Ball. Captain Carson Bernhardt had a highlight reel goal not long after. Uniac had his second goal off a sweet tip from a Yianni Peppas shot. Jacob Reid-Brant stripped the Warriors from the puck and skated in for a bar down backhander. Uniac completed his hattrick with a goal from Matthew Anderson and Connor Palmer. Anderson then went in on a breakaway shorthanded to score. Cole Ledgister capped off the scoring with a goal from Jackson McNichol.

Ben Pendleton earned the shutout, the Wolves second in as many games, and was once again rock solid for his team. Pendleton limits rebounds, challenges shooters and is extremely agile in the net.

Hard work was a definite theme with the players. The Wolves had Ryan Beckner and Caleb Cumming grinding the Warriors down with their forechecks and backchecks. The pair of players are relentless and create so many positive opportunities with their line mates. Tyler O’Hearn was once again clutch in the defensive zone and Griffin Beddis forechecked hard.

Another hard worker was Cullen Derry who was used as a forward and defender, on the power play and penalty kill. Every shift Derry kept the Warriors on their heels. Jake Patterson on the other hand, used his hard work to keep Warriors on they backside. Patterson was a beast in the game.

The game was another important step forward for the team as they remained in the driver’s seat to win the league. The Wolves have three more games and are in control of their own destiny. There is a true feeling of confidence knowing that if the players work hard, show up ready to play, focus on the systems and details of the game…..nothing can stop them!

Go Wolves!
