Minor Midget Tourney Champions
Richmond Hill Tournament Champions, Great team effort start to finish. Congratulations to the boys for a job well done.

It was an excellent weekend for the Minor Midget Select Wolves. We started out with a 2-2 tie vs Whitby. Time of possesion was on our side and the shots were 21-11 in our favour but we couldn't bury the biscuit to get the win. Game #2 vs Richmond Hill. Stick to the game plan and put the pucks to the net. The Wolves were on their game and out shot their opponent 38-10 as they racked up an 8-0 victory. Puck movement was excellent, positional play was strong, and great execution won the day. Game #3 vs Kitchener. We wanted to continue where we left off. Strong start spending nearly 3 minutes in the Kitchener end peppering the net. Kitchener finally cleared their end and on their only shot of the 1st period they scored to go up 1-0. The Wolves turned up the heat and finished the first with a 2-1 lead. The boys continued to push and wrapped up the day with a 7-2 victory. Shots were 44-8 for the Wolves. Game #4 Semi Final vs Richmond Hill. Another solid performance. The D has been solid all weekend, taking care of our end and getting the play moving from deep in our end or just regrouping to keep possesion. The game was tight with the score 2-1 Wolves after 2 periods. The 3rd period had some interactions between the boys filling the penalty box with 11 players between the two teams. After the dust settled the Wolves potted two goals 9 seconds apart to take a 4-1 lead. One more for insurance and the final was 5-2. Shots were 31-5 for the Wolves. Championship Game vs Whitby. The boys came out ready to play. We had an early scare as the puck was loose behind our goalie in the first minute. Whitby players had their hands in the air as one of our players stopped the puck and fired it down the ice to keep Whitby off the board. Less than a minute later we opened the scoring to take a 1-0 lead. Next shift came out flying and added another to take a 2-0 lead. The game was fast and our D fought off every attempt the Wildcats brought to the table. In the 3rd period we wrapped things up with 2 more goals and took the final 4-0. Shots were 19-14 for the Wolves.
Over the weekend the goaltending was solid, the D bent but rarely broke as we were able to keep the errors to a minimum and found the open man up the ice more often than not. The forwards meshed well as all 9 had at least 2 goals in the balanced attack over the weekend. Great work guys, now let's prepare for the Alliance.
