The Novice MD Wolves White split their two games on the weekend with a loss and then a win.
On Saturday, we had a game to forget. The coaching staff and parents are pretty sure too many of the boys stayed up to watch the Jays game Friday night. It seems the boys from Woodstock aren't baseball fans as they came out flying and dominated the Wolves from start to finish. However, the two goals we managed to score were first-time goal scorers, Ian and Peyton.
With the debacle from Saturday forgotten, the boys took what they learned and applied it to the Cambridge Hawks on Sunday afternoon. From the drop of the puck, it was the Wolves that dominated from start to finish. It was the performance everyone was waiting for. The boys never took a shift off and showed great hustle and determination. Although the Wolves only won 3-2, they outshot the Hawks, 25-10!!! Goals scorers were Ethan with 2 goals and Priyen adding a single.
The coaching staff really wanted to reinforce the value of teamwork. Rather than awarding the Super Wolf to one player, the defensive group of Owen B, Nick, Carson, Evin, Mitchell and Jared, shared the honour of Super Wolf!
