The boys completed their first round of games with a great effort against Hamilton Blue. Hamilton came into the game near the top of the standings with a 7-2 record. The boys knew they were in for a tough battle and they came ready!!
Waterloo jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st Period with goals from Mitch and Ethan. Once again, they played great team defense and received outstanding goaltending from Griffen. Hamilton scored a goal late in the 1st to make it 2-1.
The 2nd Period included great chances from both teams. However, the goalies were up to the challenge and the score remained 2-1.
In the 3rd, Hamilton scored early in the period. Only 8 seconds later, Mitch scored his second goal of the game to regain the lead at 3-2. Once again, the boys couldn't hang onto the lead and Hamilton managed to tie the game with under 2 minutes remaining. The final score was 3-3.
Although the boys gave up the late goal, they worked extremely hard all game. The result was even more remarkable as they were missing two key players to injury.
The Super Wolf for an outstanding effort was awarded to Ethan.
