Start to the Cambridge MD Festival
Well done Wolves for your winning start to the Cambridge MD Festival. Wolves Black played their first game of the tournament against Peterborough, and pulled out a 3-2 win thanks to the outstanding efforts of Wolves goalie #31 Bernier.

Waterloo started off the game well, winning the first period with a goal by #10, Jyrkama, midway through the period. The players were adjusting to the indoor ice, finding it a bit of a challenge to gain skating and puck speed on the sticky surface. Moving into the second period, the Wolves just couldn't find the net; however, Waterloo's defence kept the puck clear of our zone to keep the score at 1-0 for Waterloo. Schaefer, #44, was effective on the boards, while also chasing down the Peterborough forwards, stripping the puck and defending our end. Bosomworth, #19, scored two quick goals in the third, giving the Wolves the advantage and momentum for the win. Beckner, #4, did a great job of removing the opportunity for Peterborough to set up for a goal, by taking away their space and time. Hancock, #2, played a smart game of hockey with great chips over the blue to clear the zone and great positioning to set up for a goal. With a final score of 3-2, the Wolves now move on to their next game against Kitchener Jr. Rangers Blue. Go Wolves Go!
