Welcome to the 2025/2026 U16BB Tryouts!
We're Looking to ice a competitive team consisting of the best 15 players and 2 goalies that display work ethic, character and skill. There are no guarantees when it comes to tryouts, playing up last season doesn't mean you have a spot while playing down doesn't mean you can't earn a spot.
Come to tryouts ready to play Wolves hockey by working hard and being coachable.
Please note that all communication regarding tryouts will be done through our team web page.
Here are a few items to take note of:
Registration
All players MUST register and pay for a WMHA tryout package or else the player CANNOT go on the ice or be offered a roster spot.
Schedule
Monday May 5th - 8:30pm @ Waterloo Rec Complex - Intersquad Gold vs Black
Thursday May 8th - 9:15pm @ Activa Sportsplex - Exhibition game vs Kitchener Red
Saturday May 10th - 3:00pm @ Waterloo Rec Complex - Exhibition game vs Kitchener Blue
Sunday May 11th - 12:30pm @ Waterloo Rec Complex - Exhibition game vs Kitchener Red
Releases
We will be using ID codes this year during tryouts. Please do your best to keep your number to yourself.
Releases will be made after every ice time. We will do our best to do this in a timely manner.
Only those continuing on with tryouts will be listed.
Open Borders and Offers
Open borders means that anyone can tryout for the team along as they've purchased a tryout package from WMHA.
Player offers will be made throughout the tryout period, you will have 24 hours to accept an offer, after that the offer will expire.
Feedback Process
Please remember that we as coaches are tasked with choosing the most complete team. Releasing players is not a fun part of the job, but it is a necessary requirement with this year bringing uniqueness to the process.
If you're looking for feedback, please respectfully wait 24 hours after the final roster is posted to request it.
To contact the coaching staff please use my email contact listed on the WMHA website. We will then put together feedback and get it to you as soon as possible.
We will not respond to anything sent prior to the 24 hours or outside the posted email contact.
Commitment
Between practices and games, we are anticipating being on the ice a minimum of 3 to 4 times per week along with Dryland and other team functions. We understand that a player may need to miss a practice or even a game here or there due to 'life' happening however it is our expectation that players making this team will be at every ice time and team function.
See you at the rink,
Coach Rob
