U12 AA/A Wolves are South Simcoe Champs!
The U12 AA/A Wolves win 2-1 in the last seconds of overtime to capture the title!
With 1.4 seconds left in overtime, Ronan W. scored on a breakaway to give the U12 AA/A Wolves their first tournament victory of the season. The Wolves went undefeated in the tournament (4-0-1) thanks to solid goaltending, disciplined team defense and strong offensive play.
In the final, with Owen Sound going up 1-0 midway through the game, the Wolves could have packed it in. However, Mateo B. would not let that happen after he got the Wolves on the board with a hard fought goal down low.
It was a back and forth affair in overtime with great goaltending at both ends of the rink. But then, with 9.5 seconds to go, Ronan W. picked up the puck at centre ice, turned on the jets and beat the Owen Sound keeper just in the nick of time. The building erupted and the celebration was on!
