Home vs Home Big Win for Minor Bantam White
It was a Home vs Home game Sunday night as the Waterloo Wolves Minor Bantam White squad took on Minor Bantam Black. These games are always a great event as friends and previous teammates take to the ice to challenge each other for home ice victory. And today, it was White that earned 2 points.

As the first period began it was the Black squad that came out with speed and tenacity. The first goal in net for Black, caused Waterloo White to dig deep and and every player gave a little bit more. The second period is when things really turned around for MD White and it seemed as if every player made their way to the score sheet. The defence started things with a sweet shot by #77 O. McLeod who was fed a perfect pass from #7 Williams. Moments later, AP extraordinaire, #19 Hunter found the top shelf with an unassisted goal, keeping the momentum going for White. Reesor #68 looked like he had fire in his eyes when Black scored the first goal and as the second period continued he looked to Miller #3 for an assist. Scrambling out in front of the net, Miller dug for the puck just as Reesor put his stick to the ice, snapping the puck past Black's goalie. #10 Mervyn has been spectacular these last few games. A young man driven to succeed, and although he did not score in Sunday night's game, he was making plays all over the ice. Not one, but two occasions, Mervyn passed with precision allowing his teammates to add to the score. On one of these passes, #88 McMurry demonstrated great patience as he waited for just the right moment, just the screen, from his team mate to fire the puck from just in the blue line to hit the top right corner over the goalies shoulder. With this flurry of goals the score at the end of the second period was an impressive 5-1. However, both Wolves teams were not finished here. They both had a little left in the reserve tank and pushed to earn the win. However, there can be only one winner and White was not letting this win slip past them. During the third period, #14 Jespersen fed a beauty up ice pass to #44 Dupuis-Bissonnette who sliced through the defence to add another goal. #44 was not done there, as he assisted on the final goal of the game, allowing #66 Anderson to solidify the victory with the seventh goal of the game, giving Waterloo White a 7-2 win.
Honourable mention goes out to #9 Rudolph for playing a solid game on defence. Great game Wolves!
