Colours of the Season: Red & Blue
There was cause for celebrating this weekend and the colours of the gifts were red and blue rather then the typical colours of the holidays. Waterloo took 3 points this weekend securing first place as they earned a tie Friday evening against Kitchener Red and win Sunday versus Kitchener Blue.

Friday evening the Wolves took the ice looking like the Polar Express charging down the tracks. They had ice in their veins and the bells that were ringing were not those of Christmas present, but rather of the fans cheering them on from the stands. This would be a tight game! Both teams clashed for the puck in the corners and chased it over the blue line but the difference would be out in front where defence would battle to clear the zone and goalies were quick to grab, snatch and smother. Hulka #33 was amazing making some spectacular saves keeping Waterloo in the game as they were outshot by the Jr. Rangers. It felt like Scrooge had a hand in this game and kept it to a tie with a final score of 1-1. Sunday afternoon looked a lot more like Christmas as the Wolves put two quick goals into the Kitchener net early in the first period. Hancock #2 received an early present with a hat trick during the third period and Mervyn #10 was absolutely outstanding with three assists and a goal earning him 'The star on top of the tree' award for today's game. Special recognition goes to #31 B. McLeod who will certainly be on Santa's 'Good List' due to his quick reflexes to stop 24 solid shots from the Jr. Rangers squad. But really it was a team effort as Waterloo took it to the Kitchener Jr. Rangers Blue team with a final score of 6-3. Well done Wolves. Enjoy a Merry Christmas and happy holiday.
