No Free Lunch as the Red Wolves Get Two More Wins
The Red Wolves continued their winning ways, but not without push back from Cambridge White and Woodstock.

4-0 Win Saturday over Cambridge White at Dickson

The Red Wolves squeezed into Dickson Arena well aware that Cambridge White liked to battle.  The feisty Cambridge squad delivered keeping the Red Wolves at bay for two periods through gritty play and an early Wolf parade to the penalty box.  Wyatt M. would finally break the seal after great pressure by his line mates Rohan J. and Ryder H.  Grayson S. would then shake off a severe case of “post-it is” to stretch the lead and the Wolves would not look back.  Lucas P. would add a rebound to make it 3-0 and Mike B. would add a “shortie” with a knuckle-puck blast from the point.  Ty B. received the lunch pail for keeping Cambridge at bay in the early going and Daniel L-C. took home the hard hat.  The purpose of a mysterious pair of black gloves that were left behind after a recent practice was revealed.  Rohan J. received the first “sweet hands” award as he set up a new Cook’s Pharmacy location behind the Cambridge net and distributed the “black rubber pill” to his teammates throughout the game.

7-3 Win Sunday over Woodstock at Albert McCormick West

Sunday morning, the Wolves controlled the first period play against a Woodstock squad that has been slowly slipping out of the playoff picture.   Despite several chances, the Wolves only held a 1-0 lead on a goal by Lucas P. after a shot by Matty B.  and a huge save by Daniel L-C.  Rohan J. and Wyatt M. would crash the net and Ryder H. put home the rebound early in the second to give the Wolves a 2-0 lead.  Gavin S. would add another rebound goal shortly after to make it 3-0.  The Wolves then took a visit to “Snoozeville” and let Woodstock back into the game with two quick goals to make it 3-2.  Emre A would make it 4-2 before the end of the second.  Grayson S.  and Gavin S. would add a pair of goals early in the third, but the Wolves continued to play loose defensively and Woodstock was able to get one back to make it 6-3 with just under 10 minutes to play.  The Wolves would finally find the same effort from the first period and finished out the game with Emre A. adding some insurance to make the final score 7-3.  Colten T. took the hard hat for pressuring the Woodstock defence down low, and Ryder H. earned the lunch pail for hard battles in front of the net.  Gavin S. received the “sweet hands” gloves for a nice centering pass and a couple of rebound goals.

The Wolves return to Dickson next Saturday to close out the regular season against Cambridge Red.
