Novice Red Leaves Tier 2 After 2 Gritty Performances
Despite getting relegated back to Tier 3 earlier in the week, Novice Red put in two solid efforts against the top teams in Tier 2.

On Saturday, the Wolves faced an undefeated Burlington Red and although the Wolves fell behind 2-0 in the first, the Wolves battled back to make the score 2-2 in the second period.  Burlington would try to shake the Wolves with a third goal, but again the Wolves battled back to tie the game 3-3 in the third.  Burlington would regain the lead and the Wolves continued to hang tight until a late Burlington power play allowed the visitors to get up 5-3 and eventually 6-3 late in the game.  Grayson P. took the hard hat for whacking pucks and attackers all game and Gavin S. took the lunch pail for strong positional play.

On Sunday, the Red Wolves took on the other undefeated team, Waterloo White in the battle of Waterloo.  Red came out hard and took the play to White for most of the first period but failed to get on the score board.  Red would open the scoring in the second to go up 1-0, but White would tie it up just past the mid point with a wrap around goal that Ty B. still claims was kicked in and the battle of Waterloo entered the third tied 1-1.  Red and White would trades chances in a back and forth third period, and White would get a lucky break to take the 2-1 lead.  Red battled hard to the bitter end and came close with the goalie pulled, but just could not get the equalizer. Matty B. took the hard hat for winning several mid ice puck battles, while Wyatt M. took home the lunch pail for getting Red the early momentum.

The coaching staff would like to thank all the players for their hard work in arguably their best two performances of the season.

Next up the Wolves return to Tier 3 for the playoff phase of the schedule with road trips to Woodstock and Brantford next weekend.
