On Saturday afternoon the Waterloo Wolves took on the London JR Mustangs Purple @ RIM Pillars. The Wolves were looking to keep the win streak alive with two games going into this weekend.
The Wolves got off to a slow start in the first two periods but kept London's shots to a minimum forcing a stalemate after 2 periods. In the 1st period the Wolves out shot London 9-4 and had a successful penalty kill allowing only 2 shots.
In the 2nd period the Wolves kept up the pressure and out shot London 9-6. The team also killed off 2 penalties in the 3rd period pushing the 0-0 tie game to the 3rd period.
After the flood and some bananas the Wolves came out faster in the 3rd period. The first goal of the game was scored by Carter Buehlow after a give away by the opposition in their defensive zone. With a quick release Carter buried the puck 5 hole against the London goalkeeper giving the Wolves a 1-0 lead early in the 3rd.
The Wolves kept up the pressure out shooting London in the 3rd period 12-9. With 30 seconds to go Bryson Henderson put the game away with an empty netter. The final score of the game was 2-0 Wolves with a shutout by Hunter Bernhardt.
