Minor Atom MD tryouts
The following information will help you and your child understand the tryout process and our plans for the upcoming season. Player selection will be based upon skill, work ethic, attitude, and sportsmanship. Players are encouraged to try out at their favoured positions; however, players may be asked to play a different position during the selection process. After the teams have been chosen, players’ positions will be determined by the coaching staffs.
Names of players invited back will be posted on the MD home page. Parents are asked to check the website to make sure your child is on list for the following tryout. Player’s names NOT ON THE LIST have been released for the remainder of the tryouts, and the coaches wish them success in the Select tryouts. There will be two exhibition games played against Cambridge during the tryouts. Please check the website regularly for updates, changes, and game rosters. We aim to post tryout results no later than 8 AM the morning after each tryout session.
After the final releases, players who have been selected for the MD division will be drafted to either Minor Atom Timber Wolves or Minor Atom Ice Wolves. Players are expected to attend all practices and games, off-ice training sessions, and tournaments.
Both teams have entered three tournaments this year.
Timber Wolves:
KW Oktoberfest, October 23-26
Canadian Tire Classic (Barrie), November 28-30
Preston International, January 9-11
Ice Wolves:
KW Oktoberfest, October 23-26
Grtezky Tournament (Brantford), December 27-30
West London Tournament, January 30-February 1
Financial commitments: app. team fee $600; rep fee $530.
