10th Annual National Capital Winter Classic
On the weekend of January 10-12, the Ice Wolves traveled to Ottawa to compete in the 10th Annual National Capital Winter Classic.

Game 1 vs. Kanata Blazers

At the 10 second mark of period one, Tanner M. buried a one timer on a beautiful feed from Alex V.  For a tension filled 35 minutes and 50 seconds of play, the Wolves fought and clawed to make that single score stand up.  And amazingly it did!

For his unceasing tenacious play, Jack M. was awarded Waterloo’s player of the game.  Goaltender Aidan T. celebrated his return to the National Capital Region with a 27 shot shut-out that also earned him player of the game honours.

Game 2 vs. Ottawa Sting

Waterloo’s Alex V. drew first blood, burying a rebound early in the first.  Unfortunately the Wolves soon found themselves overmatched against a talented Sting team.  Final score: 6-1.

Waterloo player of the game: Alex V.

Game 3 vs. Mississippi Thunder Kings

Facing one of the best teams in the ODMHA, the Wolves fought hard but it was not enough.  Final score: 3-0.

Waterloo player of the game: Will C.

The boys should be proud of their efforts against top notch competition.  They competed and challenged in each game.  They also enjoyed some team building and camaraderie off the ice.
