Sharks Win a Close, Back and Forth Game
Great Team Effort

We had a game with a lot of highlights.

The Stars got an early goal and were playing well.

Nick got our first goal of what turned out to be a high scoring affair.

Nick was able to get the Sharks on the board with his first goal of the season
That goal seemed to turn the tide for the whole game.

For that he got the Golden Moment.

The Sharks did not give up when they were behind.  As parents we can be very proud of this kind of spirit the boys show.

The line of David, Nick and Jacob were able to connect for 4 goals this game.

Jacob, with the help of his line mates, scored his first career hat trick.  Jacob has been working hard during his Wednesday-afterschool practices.  Eric Calder of Skills Plus focuses on strong plays to the net.  Getting the goalie moving is an important part of goal scoring as well.  I think these practices are paying off.  Way to go guys!

Speaking of Sharks goals, Murtaza and his line also chipped in with a goal to round out the scoring.  It is always a good play to shoot and Murtaza got some results the same way Nick did - shoot the puck.

The Stars showed us something else during this game -
Shoot the puck then be hungry for rebounds.  Our forwards can learn from this - always be hungry around the net.
You never know when the puck will come your way.

Sadiq had to be sharp to keep the us in the game.  He made some great saves to keep the puck out.  It is up to our team to clear the puck away.

I think the next practise we will work on clearing the rebounds!

Short Bench

We only had ten skaters so the boys were double shifted all game.

This is very hard to do and requires a lot of physical effort from the boys.  If you have ever played a full game, double shifted, you know how tiring that is.  The boys never quit skating.

Great Party

Thanks to all for coming to our house for a Pool Party and bringing plenty of wonderful food for the day.

It is funny how there were no doughnuts left!
