The Record Cup
What an honour to play in that game.

We had a lot of good competition during our league and tournament play from the Waterloo teams.
It is no wonder that Kitchener Yellow team won their league Championship, they are a very good team.
We faced today the best team we have seen since the London Tournament.

They play their positions, they skate back and they play hard on the puck.

Due to this, it was also the roughest hockey we have played in a while.

Get used to it.  That is the kind of hockey we will be playing for the next few days.

Here is the great news – the Sharks stayed right with them!

The difference in the game was two fluky goals.

One bounced off a shin pad and in.

The other was a whiffed puck that fooled everybody, including the Kitchener player who was carrying the puck and Sadiq.

Sadiq was playing it perfectly timing his movement to keep pace with the puck carrier going across the net.  The puck carrier loses the puck and it dribbles into the net between Sadiq’s legs. Bad luck.

Sadiq did not give up and went on to make some spectacular saves to keep the Sharks in the game.

As a coach, what I thought was cool was the way the Sharks continued to play.

In fact, as the game wore on, the Sharks really stepped up their play.

We won the third period 1-0.

The Kitchener Yellow team is a very good team but they were kept to the outside for the most part and there were few rebound opportunities.

I am really looking forward the Alliance Tournament.

The Sharks have proven they can skate and play with anybody.

Go! Sharks! Go!
