A tough game from start to finish but they never gave up!!
Playing on very soft ice due to a compressor breakdown, the Wolves found the skating tough and passing even tougher.
Falling behind 2 - 0 early in the game, the Wolves fought back to make it 2 - 1 before the Steelhawks pulled ahead again.
As the ice conditions worsened, and the puck began to take on a life of it"s own, the Wolves discovered the secret to the Steelhawks with the simple "dump and chase" and "chip it out on the board" to bring the score to 5 - 3 in the third.
Unfortunately, the ice was not the only "chippy part" of the game and the normal Hamilton "7th player wearing stripes" helped to ensure the Wolves were unable to capitalize.
A late 3rd period goal by the Steelhawks and the game ended 6 - 3.
