Black Wolves Fall 6-2 to Knights
The Pee Wee Black Wolves wrapped up their series with London with a 6-2 loss.
The Knights will move on to the Alliance final while the Wolves will mean either Woodstock or Kitchener in the consolation semi-final.
The Wolves had some jump early and took the play to the Knights. The Knights opened the scoring late in the first when their forward was allowed to skate in untouched from the half-boards. The second period was all Knights as they added four more goals to take a commanding lead of 5-0. The Knights added one more in the third before the Wolves finally got on the board on the powerplay. Zach Doughty's point shot was deflected twice - by Drayton Duckett and by Zack Walsh who batted the puck out of the air and past the Knights' goaltender. Walsh scored his second of the game a few minutes later on what could easily have been the TSN Highlight of the Night. Walsh took a pass at center ice from Tyrell Brown. Walsh made a nifty toe drag to deke out the first Knightthen dangled by two more Knight defenders before making a great move to beat the goaltender. Walsh was rewarded with the Hardest Worker award for his strong play at both ends of the rink.
A very solid series for the Wolves against a very strong opponent. Well done boys!
