Start your New Years Eve with some fun 3 On 3

Hello All,

Your coach will be asking if your player will attend the 3 on 3 tournament
Here is some information for you.

Think about this as dropping your player off at the neighbourhood rink for some organized fun with friends - with trophies.
The idea is that this is glorified pond hockey.
The players get to go out and play with and against their buddies.

We will have around 2 hours to play.

Here is how it will work:

Once we have the list of players who will be there, Sean and I will make teams based on the rankings from the evaluations and the coaches’ opinions.

The ranking groups will be 1, 2, 3, 4.

We will make teams that will allow the players to play with players from other HL teams
The players will play others of equal ranking.
1 against 1s, 2 against 2s etc.
We will play 3 on 3 format.
If there is a penalty there will be a turnover.
The other team will be awarded a breakaway on the penalized team -  play continues.

There will be about 6 players per team – two lines,

Trophies -

Parents and coaches will be chosen at random (or volunteer - hint hint) to evaluate from the stands.
They will vote for the best player on each team.

Each team will have an MVP award for the best player (eight MVP trophies in all). The player that gets the most votes on each team gets the MVP Trophyy

Best Goalie

We will also have a bit of a shoot out competition for the goalies.
Each team will provide shooters of equal ability for a shoot out to determine the best goalie on each team
The trophy to the goalies will have a lot to do with luck - missed nets, shooter selection, and the sort - it is just supposed to be fun.
I hope the goalies are used to the luck component of their game already.

Logistics

We are expecting over 60 players so bring your player as ready for the ice is possible.

I would like to save as much the dressing rooms space for the goalies as possible.

When you arrive your player will be assigned a pinny and a team number and a coach.
Get your player ready for the ice then line him up with his coach in the hallway
.

Your boy will be assigned to a team  (1A 1B 2A 2B…)

We had a lot of fun with this last year

I am hoping for the same again this year
