2024-2025 U16 Select Hockey Coaching Staff Introduction
We’re excited to introduce this year’s coaching staff, a team of passionate leaders who are not only committed to developing hockey skills but also to teaching the invaluable life lessons that the sport has instilled in us. Hockey is more than just a game—it’s a vehicle for growth, learning, and character building. This season, we aim to teach our players not only how to excel on the ice, but also how to embody the core values of teamwork, leadership, and integrity that hockey represents.
Leading the team at Head coach is Carson Maybury who is entering his fourth year at Wilfrid Laurier University. He grew up playing hockey and spent three seasons with the Kitchener-Waterloo Siskins Jr B team. Carson brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience and is dedicated to fostering both the athletic and personal development of young athletes. He is excited to lead this team throughout the upcoming season. He is enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge of the game and the values hockey instills, such as teamwork, leadership, and integrity.
Joining Carson are Assistant Coaches Andrew Flores and Nolan Horne, also fourth-year students at Laurier. Both Andrew and Nolan have extensive hockey backgrounds and share a commitment to not only helping players improve on the ice but also to building character off the ice.
We believe that hockey is more than just a game—it’s a way to teach responsibility, collaboration, and how to handle both victory and defeat with grace. As a coaching team, we’re looking forward to working with the players, creating a positive atmosphere, and helping everyone grow both as athletes and individuals.
We’re excited for the upcoming season and can’t wait to see everyone at tryouts!
