U11BB Wolves are Champions!
Our Wolves battled through 6 tough games to win the 51st Annual Guelph Powerplay tournament this past weekend.
They were dominant in the 4 round robin games and earned first place in the pool with a win over Guelph at the Sleeman Centre on Saturday afternoon.
The Wolves played a tough Centre Wellington team in the semi-finals and won 5-3 which set up final against the also unbeaten team from Woolwich.
In a true back and forth battle we were trailing 1-0 going into the 3rd period but the players were resilient, scoring twice. But Woolwich tied it back up again and this is the way the 3rd period would finish. A five minute 3v3 sudden death overtime also solved nothing. This game was going to be decided by a shootout. There were goals and there were saves and on the 5th round of shots, we got a big goal and a huge save to clinch the title for our Wolves.
We are very proud of each and every one of our players, every one was instrumental throughout this championship weekend.
