Tryouts Sept 8 and 10
The summer sure does pass by quickly but there is still lots left to enjoy!
Mark your calendars as tryouts are exactly 1 month away ( as of the writing of this article ) which is really early compared to the last few years.
A little background for those of you who don't know me. I have been a coach (HL), assistant(MD), trainer(MD) or parent rep (MD) with WMHA since my oldest son, started playing in 2009. I also spent a number of years as convenor and as the director of house league hockey for WMHA. My goal this season is to provide a safe environment for the boys to have fun, grow their hockey skills and make some new friends.
I would like to encourage everyone interested in Select to come to the tryouts as everyone has an equal opportunity to make the team. I'm looking for 9 forwards, 6 defence and 2 goals plus 5 alternate players ( 3 forwards and 2 defence ).
I am also going to need bench staff to help me during games and practices, at least 1 manager to book games, some videographers and of course someone to organize some social events. If you are interested please let me know after the team is formed.
