Complete Team Effort - Wolves Win in Guelph
The boys travelled to the west side of Guelph to take on a guelph gryphon team that had a very similar record - 1 V 1 - it  had the makings of a very tight hockey game.

The first period was an evenly matched period with the wolves out shooting the gryphons by a slight edge, there were a few chances that neither team could capitalize on, so off to the second period with goose eggs on the scoreboard............................

I informed the boys between the period that the skating, passing, positional play was good but we need to get into their house and get some rebounds into the net. Message sent - and the boys delivered.
We ended up getting 3 goals in the second to their 1 - still a close game. Goals scorers in the 2nd were Kaden, Adam, Callum S - our boys were passing and making some smart plays - in fact the coaches noticed a few times a perfectly executed breakout play into the Gryphon zone. It is the little things that will make our team successful.
Onto the long 15 min 3rd period - I challenged the boys to keep the loud pedal pressed fully down and not to let up, continue the success we had in the 2nd period and use this momentum in the third.
The momentum continued and the boys potted 4 more goals to the gryphons 1. Final score - 7-2 Wolves.
A couple individuals had a very strong game - Kudos to Callum S for the 3 goal night (must be my tape job on the stick - haha) , Cameron had 2 goals and an assist, another bright spot was from the defence getting some shots on the net to create opportunities - good job to Jackson, Callum B and Johannes on the well deserved assists. Great shutout for Brad in net in the first half, Jack had a couple that slipped by him, but we can work on this.

Overall this was a very good game and the boys played strong, as mentioned in practice last Saturday - You play like you Practice - all the coaches commented in the dressing room Saturday on this, and there were good takeaways that the boys put into play Monday night.
My final comment was the number of different players that contributed to the scoring - We had 10 different players get on the score sheet!. As a coach this is awesome as it shows teamwork, players passing and going to the spots they are supposed to be.

Lets bring this to our next game Saturday in Hamilton at 4pm.

See you at the rink
