Minor Midget MD Tryout Information 2017-2018
Hello everyone
With team tryouts starting on Sunday, I
would like to take this opportunity to share some important
information about our tryout process.
Evaluations :
We will have outside coaching assistants on site to provide player input, feedback and overall assistance with evaluating both players and goalies during our tryout process. The evaluators we have helping are all very experienced with no ties to the team. They, along with the coaching staff, will make joint decisions on players moving forward and those who will be released.
Home Games: All players are required to arrive 1 hour prior to the game and check in at the tryout desk. Players and goalies who are not playing are not required to bring their equipment into the arena. We do ask, however, that you bring it and leave it in your car in case we need to make a last minute change due to an illness or injury.
Road Games:
Again, players in the lineup are asked to arrive 1 hour prior to the game. Players not in the lineup are not required to attend, however, they are welcome to come and cheer. Players who are not in the lineup for an exhibition game are asked to stay clear of the dressing room to allow those playing to focus on their game preparation.
Releases
We will be using the team portion of the WMHA web site for all of our releases.
Our first releases will happen September 11th after the game against Kitchener (NO RELEASES THE FIRST NIGHT). We will be posting the names of players who are asked to return by the morning of the 12th. Players who will be required to dress/play in the next game on September 12 @5:45 in Kitchener will be identified in BOLD.
We will not have any further releases until after the September 13th game against Brantford. We will post the names of the players who are required to play September 15th in Brantford in BOLD. Players not playing are not required to travel to Brantford.
Final roster selection will be posted September 16th as soon as possible. Any player who is not asked to return can contact me if you are looking for feedback. We will set up a time to meet with myself and the coaching staff.
Please keep in mind that the above is just an overview for you to follow along in the selection process. We may alter this plan based on other factors we are not aware of prior to us posting this information.
