Bears have a blast in Arthur
The Tyke Bears took their show on the road this weekend as they traveled to Arthur for a one-day tournament. Even though the Bears were in the Novice division, they held their own winning their first game but coming up short in the next two.
The Bears took it to BCH in the first game winning 4-0. The goalie duo of Nathan L. and Jonathan V. were dialed in and stopped every shot. Player of the game was Brian N. with a dominant performance of 2 goals and one assist.
In the second game, the Bears faced off against Listowel. This was a back and forth affair with some great chances on both sides. With a few minutes to go, Listowel capitalized on a rebound and scored to put the Cyclones ahead. With their net empty, the Bears tried to equalize the contest but came up short. Players of the game were the goalie tandem of Nathan L. and Jonathan V. based on another stellar performance.
The Bear's 1-1 record earned them a spot in the B Final but they came up short against a very experienced New Hamburg Novice team. The Bears tried to weather the storm but in the end the Firebirds had too much firepower. New Hamburg won 6-1. Player of the game was Nate B. who gave a great effort despite still wearing a cast on his arm!
