Wolves Split Weekend Games
Written by Shawn Thompson
The Wolves had a trying weekend coming up just short against the Huron
Perth Lakers this past Saturday as they lost a tight one, 5-4. The Wolves
at times looked a little sloppy but continued to fight throughout the
game. It seemed each time one team scored the other
would quickly answer. It was a back and forth type of game with a lot of offense and some beautiful goals on great passing plays by both teams.
Kyle Maloney lead the way with a 2 goal performance. Single goal scorers
were SpencerYoung and Austin Stemmler. Assists were earned by Braydon Hislop, Jaxson Murray, Jake McDonald, Cooper Way and Jake Anderson.
On Sunday, the Wolves bounced back in impressive fashion defeating the London Junior Knights by a score of 6-3. The Wolves got an early lead and never looked back as Ryan Hanson scored on a nifty passing play from his two line mates Cooper Way and Jacob Thompson to open the game. The Wolves went up by a score of 2-0 soon after when Cooper Way scored earned his second point of the game. From there, the momentum stayed with the Wolves as the Junior Knights tried to fight back to even the score but to no avail. Other goal scorers were Jacob Thompson, Jake McDonald and Kyle Maloney with two. Assists went to Ryan Hanson (2), Cooper Way (2) and singles to Jacob Thompson, Owen Parsons, Spencer Young and Ryan McGeown.
The Wolves have a busy weekend playing the Hamilton Huskies on Saturday followed by their cross-town rivals the Kitchener Junior Rangers on Sunday.
