Two out of Three Isn't Bad
Written by Shawn Thompson

The Wolves had a very busy weekend having played 3 games and winning two of them.

The weekend led off with a game against Kitchener on Friday night. The past two games the Wolves played against the Rangers were not positive ones as Kitchener dismantled Waterloo. That was not the case this past Friday as the Wolves and the Rangers played a back-and-forth game involving two talented and speedy teams. The Rangers got off to an early lead but the Wolves quickly bounced back on a nice passing play from Jacob Thompson to
a streaking Kyle Maloney to tie the score at 1-1. Again, the Rangers pulled ahead 2-1, but a nifty wrap around by Owen Parsons tied the game once again at 2-2. Mid-way through the third period the Rangers again scored on a deflection and that would be how the game ended with the Rangers winning 3-2. Marshall Nicholls was also superb in net throughout the game making many superb saves.

On Saturday, the Wolves showed up with their skating legs defeating the Hamilton Huskies 5-1. The hi-light goal of the night was scored by Jake McDonald who dangled his way through to score a beauty to tie the game at 1-1. From that point on the Wolves were fabulous. Other goal scorers were Kyle Maloney, Preston Young, Spencer Young and Jaxson Murray. Jacob Thompson garnered 3 assists while Copper Way, Spencer Young, Owen Parsons, Ryan Hanson, Jake Anderson and Braydon Hislop earned single assists.

The weekend games ended with the Wolves playing the Huskies once again, and it was a back and forth affair with the Wolves pulling out a late victory by the score of 5-4. The Wolves were leading 4-3 late in the game when the Huskies tied it up 4-4. Kyle Maloney then scored the winner with just over a minute left on a pass from Ryan Hanson. Other goal scorers were Jaxson Murray, Ryan Hanson, Spencer Young and a second goal from Kyle Maloney. Assist were earned by Jacob Thompson, Kyle Maloney, Owen Parsons, Preston Young, Copper Way, and Jake McDonald.

The Wolves have another busy week, starting with a home game Thursday against Cambridge, Friday they travel to Hamilton, and home against Elgin-Middlesex on Sunday before finishing off their forth game in five days in Brantford Monday night.
