On behalf of myself (Brad Duench), welcome to the 2012/2013 Minor Peewee MD selection camp. The following information will help you and your child understand the selection process and my plans for the upcoming season. I do not have any assistant coaches in place as the try-outs begin. This has been done on purpose to allow for a very level section process. I have asked for 6 private evaluators to evaluate the kids on the criteria that I have given them. The following clearly defines that criteria;
Work ethic and competitiveness- We have designed a series of drills to measure this
Attitude- This will be measured while on the ice and in the dressing room/lobby
Skill- Skating, puck control, hockey sense and ability
The six evaluators’ score cards will weigh heavily on the selection process.
Please see the team web-site for how the player releases and selection process will work.
Important dates;
Parent Meeting for Minor Peewee Ice Wolves: Thursday September 20th- 6:30-8:30 p.m. sharp in room #202 at RIM Park. Please bring a copy of the player’s health card, emergency contact information and cheque book to the meeting.
