The Atom Ice Wolves are Silver Stick Champions
The Atom Ice Wolves began their quest at the Silver Stick Regional qualifier at rinks in The Town of New Tecumseth and Alliston just after Christmas.


An opening game loss to Oakville 2-1 was followed up with wins over Orangeville 7-2, Town of New Tecumseth 7-0 and Ancaster 4-0. The final would see the Ice Wolves win over Oakville 3-1. The goalie pair of Jayden V and Bryden A would post 2 shutouts. The team would capture the qualifying tournament with a  4-1 record.

The Ice Wolves were now on route to Pelham Ont. to compete in the International Silver Stick Tournament of Champions.
The 16 team championship that would see the winner come home with the sterling silver stick pin, countless pins from pin trading, a plaque that will display the team names of the champions in the Hockey Hall of Fame and memories that will last a lifetime.

The Ice Wolves would open the tournament with a 7-2 win over Collingwood.

The Littleton Hawks from Colorado would fall 8-0. Jayden V earning the shutout.

The next game against Saginaw would see two of our defencemen- Josh L and Drew S pick up their first goal/s this season. The team was thrilled with this accomplishment. The score against Saginaw 12-0. Bryden A with the shutout.

The quarter final had the Ice Wolves take on the Bridgewater Bears from New Jersey. The Ice Wolves team worked hard in the 5-2 win. Jayden with the win in goal.

The semi final saw the Ice Wolves win over the Atlanta Fire 4-1.

Bryden in goal for the win.

This would set up the final with the top two teams in round robin play. The Barrie Colts vs The Waterloo Atom Ice Wolves.
There was an uneasy excitement  knowing what was on the line. Both teams moms in their sons unused jersey, brothers, sisters, dads, grandparents and other friends and family waited anxiously for the drop of the puck.
The Ice Wolves gaining momentum throughout the game would open the scoring going up 1-0.
They would add another take take a 2-0 lead. With just over a minute remaining and the puck in the Ice Wolves zone the Barrie goalie would head to the bench. The Ice Wolves player would pick up the puck shooting it the length of the ice into the open net. A 3-0 win for the Ice Wolves. Jayden V with the shutout.

After on ice ceremonies presenting the trophy, medals, the silver stick and banner, both teams would come together in a picture. A goodwill tournament indeed.
The Ice Wolves team and family would gather in the dressing room for a special presentation from a Silver Stick tournament member. The tournament now over.. but a lifetime of memories and stories to share and tell.
