Late Game Goals Save The Day
The Atom Ice Wolves had two home games the weekend of Dec 15-16.
Kitchener Blue and the other Waterloo teams were the opponents
The game versus Kitchener started out slow but The Ice Wolves began to mount an offensive. The Ice Wolves would go up 1-0 from a shot by Ty L, who was fed from some nice passing by Ethan W and Jaxson S. Soon after, again off some precision passing by Ty L and Jake G, Sam R would net a goal to extend the lead to 2-0.
The Rangers down by two would begin to hammer away. Three unanswered goals from the Rangers had the Ice Wolves behind in the third. The Rangers were now holding off the Wolves.
The Ice Wolves short handed was the last situation the team needed to be in with time ticking away. The Rangers looked as though they would put the game away.
Sam V would get a pass to Jake G who would go in on goal and beat the goalie with the short handed goal. The game would end 3-3. A good effort from the team and Jayden V in goal. Shots were 21-20 for the Ice Wolves

Game two of the weekend saw the Ice Wolves take on the Waterloo Timber Wolves.
Despite the Timber Wolves aggressive start the Ice Wolves broke out ahead as Sam R in close whacked a shot past the Timber Wolves goalie.
The Timber Wolves now in control of the game would score two to go up on the Ice Wolves.
The situation much the same as the day before saw the Ice Wolves down a goal with just under three minutes remaining in the game.
Bradley D starting a rush into the Timber Wolves zone sent the puck over to Jake G who passed over to the side of the net where a waiting Cooper S would put the puck past the goalie. The game would end 2-2.
An energetic hard fought battle between the two teams.
