Ice Wolves down the Spitfires
The Ice Wolves were on the road to take on the Hamilton Spitfires in a Saturday night game.
In the previous meeting the Ice Wolves skated to a 1-1 tie.
This game would be different.
The Ice Wolves came out of the gates flying. In the first minute of play a goal crease scramble would see Foxy tip a shot past the goalie to put the Wolves up 1-0. Three minutes into the game Foxy would pot two more for the hat trick. The Ice Wolves would take a 3-0 lead into the second period.
The Ice Wolves kept the pressure on in the second, after hitting the post three times Rintche would get one past the goalie to make it 4-0. Soon after Van Wyck would add another to make it 5-0.
Hamilton would respond with a point shot making its way thru traffic and a screened Ice Wolves goalie.
The score now 5-1, Rintche would break in on goal and deke past the new goalie off the bench for his second of the game.
Van Wyck coming off the boards heading to the net would take a shot beating the goalie, 7-1.
Shortly after that Van Wyck would bury his third of the game for the hat trick.
With time ticking a nice pass to Gary Li would see him net his first goal of the year.
The score 9-1 Ice Wolves.
All the players put forth a great effort skating and passing that lead to this result. Great game team.
