Gold Guts Out Gritty Tourney Win in Glanbrook
Novice Gold played their first games of the year in the Glanbrook Fall Classic and came home with the banner after a tough battle with Kincardine.

Gold opened the tourney Friday morning with big win over the Dundas Blues.  The Wolves then followed up the easy win with a sleepy afternoon effort against Kincardine that resulted in a loss and a 1-1 standing after the first day.  Saturday morning Gold got back to Wolves hockey and played a complete game versus Oakridge to get to a 2-1 record and a second place ranking after the round robin.

Sunday morning at 8am, the Wolves showed that they were ready for business and took down the host club Glanbrook in the semifinal to book a rematch with Kincardine in the final.  The final game lived up to the "Fall Classic" tourney title.

The Wolves took the lead in the latter part of the first period, but Kincardine would equalize in the late stages of the second.  Gold did a quick "gut check" and reclaimed the 2-1 lead heading into the final period.  The Wolves would hang on to win a "tough one" and bring their first banner of the year home.

Next up is a league game on the road again arch-rival Kitchener Red.
