Novice Timber Wolves vs Thorold Blackhawks
The Wolves dropped the second game of the tournament in a 5 - 2 loss to Thorold
The boys did their best to out work Thorold along the boards. The team went down 3 - 0 on some penalty troubles and a couple of loose pucks that were not cleared away. Jacob Craig stood his ground and made two huge saves on two Thorold breakaways. Late in the second period, Thomas Chan and Cole Hunsberger teamed up on a beautiful goal. Thomas Chan carried the puck across the blueline with two defenders on either side of him. Cole Hunsberger out raced a defender as he went to the net and stretched out his stick to tip in the pass from Thomas.
In the third period, the defense had a lot of quality shots from the point that generated scoring chances. The forwards were putting serious pressure down low to keep the puck deep in the offensive zone. Thomas and Cole hooked up for the second goal as Cole twirled around the defense and backhanded a no look pass over to Thomas who beat the Thorold goalie glove side. There were several scoring chances late in the game as the boys really took the game to Thorold but just could not get the puck past the goalie.
A solid game boys and a good effort in the tournament against teams in the Novice A division.
