The Timber Wolves pull off a dramatic come from behind tie against the Hamilton Huskies Blue in afternoon action
The boys found themselves in a hole after going down 4 - 0 early in the game.
The team owned the final two periods of play as the defense pushed the Hamilton forwards away from the front of the net. The forwards applied solid pressure on the fore check as the period went on. Mid way through the period, Jacob Craig stoned a breakaway attempt with a quick snag of the leather. That seemed to be the TSN turning point of the game. Tim Hodson rifled a shot from the hash marks with 1:28 remaining in the period. Ethan Wasylyshyn picked up the puck on the doorstep and slammed it home making the score 4 - 1. On the ensuing faceoff, Griffin Beddis and Finn Skuterud worked the give and go as Griffin lifted one past the goalie with 56 seconds left in the period. 4 - 2...
To start the third period, Cole Hunsberger and Tim Hodson rambled up the ice as they worked another give and go. Tim Hodson scored top cheese 10 seconds into the period bringing the Wolves to within one. It was excellent defensive work as the boys battled hard and kept the play in Hamilton's end. Austin Zappitelli came up big with less than two minutes remaining as he stopped what was a sure goal using his blocker to knock the puck to the side. Jake Patterson picked up a loose puck in the neutral zone. His seeing-eye backhander made it in the back of the net tying the game up at 4.
Way to never quit boys. Your hard work and determination earned a hard fought tie today.
