The Timber Wolves played an excellent game against Brantford despite losing 4 - 3.
The boys played an awesome game this afternoon. The team had plenty of excellent scoring chances, even a few missed opportunities as they brought their "A' to Brantford.
The team was passing the puck around to the open winger which created several scoring chances. They applied pressure on the forwards causing several turnovers in the neutral zone. Thomas Chan and Cole Hunsberger worked the give and go up the ice. Cole cut in front of the net and shot the puck top cheese tying the game up at 1 a piece. Jake Patterson carried the puck from end to end and nearly finished the deal as he narrowly missed the open net with the backhand. There were several posts hit as the team applied pressure on the defense.
In the third, Griffin Beddis and Cole Hunsberger applied some solid fore-checking in front of the Brantford net. This caused the puck to squirt out to Tim Hodson who was sitting all alone in the slot. Tim buried the puck bringing the team to within one goal and only two minutes left to play in the game. A quick return goal by Brantford forced the line of Griffin Beddis, Thomas Chan and Cole Hunsberger to come up with one of the prettiest goals of the season. Thomas rushed up the ice with Griffin at his side. Thomas slid the puck to Griifin who quickly dished the puck over to a speeding Cole Hunsberger. Cole dangled the puck between the defenders feet, then toe-dragged the puck past another defender leaving him all alone. The shot was so quick that the boys only knew it went in when the referee pointed at the back of the net while blowing his whistle. Truly a "dangle-isious" goal.
Well played boys, extremely well played.
Enjoy a well deserved Christmas break.
Hardest worker went to Cole Hunsberger for his hard work and amazing goal.
