Wolves show their spirit in tournament win
The Waterloo Wolves Minor Bantam AAA team rolled into Oshawa this past weekend and won the Oshawa Spirit Challenge tournament in convincing style.

The Wolves only lost one game all weekend en route to their first tournament win of the season. The team went 2-1 in round robin play beating Peterborough (5-1) and Sudbury (6-1) but losing to the host Oshawa Minor Generals (4-2). In the semi-final against Peterborough, the Wolves unleashed their firepower in an 11-2 win. The semi-final win meant a rematch in the final against the Minor Generals.

The Wolves had all the motivation they needed in the earlier tournament loss to the hosts. After some tense moments with the game tied 1-1, the Wolves dug down deep and peppered the Oshawa goaltender for another five goals. Team defense took care of the rest as the Wolves smothered the Oshawa offence on their way to a 6-1 win.

K. Washkurak led the way with an outstanding four goals in the final. The one-two goaltender combination of S. Preisenhammer in the semi-final game and C. Martin in the final was exceptional. Congratulations Wolves!

The players and coaching staff would like to thank all the parents who helped out this weekend - we couldn't have done it without you!
