The Wolves won 3 games and lost 1 in round robin play of the Wally Beavis Memorial Tournament hosted by Peterborough Minor Hockey this past weekend securing second place in their division. Sunday morning's semi final was against league rival Sun County Panthers and the Wolves escaped with a hard fought 2 to 1 victory.
The Wolves would have a rematch against Gloucester Rangers who had beat them in round robin play Saturday morning. The Rangers were too much for the Wolves to handle as it was evident that the semi final game had worn down the Wolves. We achieved our goal of playing in the final but we did not obtain the result we wanted.
Kudos to the boys for giving their all this past weekend!

The Minor Pee Wee Wolves held off a very determined Lambton Jr Sting with a 6 - 5 win in Sarnia on Saturday. It was not the boys best effort of the year but they responded with a determined game Sunday against Huron Perth Lakers and slated off with a 4 to 4 tie to stay unbeaten to start the season. The highlight of this game was a Jacob Thompson goal on a penalty shot which excited the team and the fans.
Another tough weekend is on the schedule as the Wolves stay on the road Saturday to face the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs in Komoka and then finally back home Sunday against Cambridge Hawks.

The Waterloo Wolves kept their unbeaten streak alive to start the season with 2 more wins this weekend. Playing on the road in Brantford Saturday afternoon proved to be quite the test for the Wolves until the finally broke through in the 3rd for 3 consecutive goals to skate away with a 6 to 3 win. Sunday at home against London was another highly contested affair with Wolves scoring early in the 3rd and again late in the 3rd to end up with a 3 to 1 win. Excellent PK work in the weekend but the boys are still taking too many unnecessary penalties that the coaching staff will address this week during practice.

The Minor Pee Wee Wolves fought through a bunch of penalties and disallowed goals to stay unbeaten with a 5 to 5 tie against the Sun County Panthers. Sunday was a much better effort by the team to stay focused and out of the penalty box and the result was a 3 to 1 win over the Windsor Jr Spitfires.
