2 Game Home Stand
Submitted By Brad Heard on Friday, November 16, 2012
On Sat. Nov. 10th the Waterloo Mountain Wolves hosted the St. Catharines Hurricanes.

At the 8 min. mark of the 1st period # 2 Tyler MacDonald slid the puck past the Hurricanes goalies far side pad to get the 1st goal of the game assisted by the great pass of #7 Carver Combe.  Combe then put the Wolves up 2-0 with a shot from way out near the blue line a few min. into the 2nd.  Near the end of the 2nd, the Hurricanes answered back two quick times to tie it up. #22 Makhaya Campbell responded & made a beauty top shelf goal with 23 seconds left in the 2nd, assisted by #14 Owen Yager who had a great all around game. Within 5 min. of the 3rd, Hurricanes scored 2 goals to take the lead for the 1st time making it a 4-3 game. Part way through the 3rd Campbell buries another goal, assisted by #88 Ryan Heard & #10 Nolan Romhild who started the play into motion. Excellent hustle by Evans all game & great job of protecting the house by Hache. Final score 4-4 tie.

On Sunday Nov. 11th the Mountain Wolves faced the Burlington Bulldogs Red for the 2nd and final game of their home stand. The Wolves would win the game 3-0 giving both the Wolves goalies a shut out. Campbell was on fire & scored the 1st goal with seconds left in the 1st. Part way through the 2nd period #2 Tyler MacDonald's shot only was deflected by the goalie right onto the stick of the perfectly positioned #19 Nolan Reesor who planted the puck in the back of the net. With 5 min. left in the game Campbell would splendidly deek in & out of 2 defenseman & top shelf the game's final goal.  Awesome passing by all Waterloo Wolves players throughout the whole game. Final score 3-0 Wolves.
