MD Minor Atom White vs Burlington Bulldogs
The Wolves bounce back with a completely dominating performance as they shutout Burlington 2 - 0.

Waterloo set the tone of the game by establishing a fast, furious, physical presence in front of Burlington's net. Add to that, the defense got in on the act by completely moving any forwards out of the way. Burlington only managed to get two shots on net in the first; of which were easily handled by the quick glove of Cole Matthews. Part way through the period, Chaz Proulx knocked the puck away from his opponent and then dished it through heavy traffic over to Theo Wolfe. Theo made the patented "spin-o-rama" move and then backhanded the puck past the goalie.

That was all the team needed as the defense totally took over the game. Not one Burlington forward could get their stick on any puck in front of Waterloo's net. Any time they got close, the defense knock them off the puck. Burlington's only scoring attempt was met by Aidan MacKinnon and Jacob Stark as they sandwiched the forward off the puck. Looked like "synchronized checking".

In the third, the Wolves found themselves handicapped as the gate to Waterloo's penalty box saw plenty of action with a parade of boys in and out. The team even killed a few 5 on 3 penalties. With ten seconds left in the game, Burlington failed to get the puck past Quade Willson at the blue line. Quade fired the shot on net where it ended up on the stick of Riley Waters. Riley faked to his left, went right and then caught the netminder going the wrong way making it 2 - 0 for the Wolves.

Cole Matthews proudly wore the hardest worker helmet for his first shutout of the season. It could not have happened at a better time.

Great thrilling game boys. Keep it going against St. Catharines next Saturday.
